Yesterday when I heard that Steve Jobs was resigning as CEO of Apple, like so many others that have come to count that company to deliver products and services that make our day to day life with technology better, I started to think about what the future will hold… I’ve only been a Apple convert for a relatively short time (a few years…) but in that time I have come to count on his leadership of Apple to make my life better…
Hard to believe that two and a half weeks after the launch, there is still an hour line the morning the local Apple store gets a shipment of iPad2’s… But finally I got there in time, and should have one in a half hour or so…
Then again, maybe not so surprising… It’s the best computing device I have ever owned…
Guess I have to finally write that list of favorite apps…
Ok… it’s been almost a month since I picked it up early on a Saturday morning… This thing just keeps on impressing me more and more… One thing that you have to admit about Apple… they do it right…
Obviously, I’m talking about my iPad… Seems already the world is divided (funny how Apple can do that over and over…) into two major camps… Those who love the thing, and those who (although they don’t hate it) don’t get it… yet…
I just picked up an ASUS Eee PC (4G version) and it is (so far…) exactly what I have been looking for… It is small, light, fast, and is Linux to boot… Works great with Google Docs and Gmail, and I can even shell into servers if necessary…
I’ve tried Palms (too many to mention…), Pocket PC (sold that on EBay a week after I bought it…), multiple laptops and many other things… this thing is just too cool… check it out at eeepc.
